Nickolas R. Norelli, Sr., 91, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Rome Memorial Hospital.
He was born on April 9, 1927 in Rome, a son of the late Fiore and Katherine Norelli. He postponed graduating from high school to enter the United States Navy during World War II. In 2006, Nick graduated from Rome Free Academy with his granddaughter, Kristina. He was employed by the federal government at Griffiss Air Force Base for 55 years. Nick was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, especially tending to his tomato plants but most importantly loved spending time with his fami
Nick is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Nickolas and Janis Norelli of Rome and Christopher and Shelli Norelli of TX; five beloved grandchildren, Nickolas and his wife, Holly, Katherine and her husband, Anthony, Kristina and her husband, Nick, Nichole, and Katherine; five great grandchildren, Guiliana, Giada, Adriana, Nickolas, and Carmela; a sister, Katherine Achtner; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Fiore Norelli and Angelo and Dorothy Norelli; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Julia Norelli and a brother-in-law, Edward Achtner.
Mr. Norelli’s graveside service will be held in St. John’s Cemetery private for the family.
