Jean C. Dingman, 86, of Stonehedge Health and Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Floyd, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2006. Her loving family was by her side at the time of her passing which occurred at Rome Memorial Hospital. She was born on February 22, 1920 in Rome, a daughter of the late Olen and Ethel Evans Rice. On January 20, 1943 in Rome, Jean was united in marriage to Ernest "Pete" Dingman, a blessed union of over 37 years until his passing which occurred on May 25, 1980. She was member of the Henry P. Smith Post of the American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary and was a former member of the Camroden Presbyterian Church. Jean is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Marjorie Stedman of Floyd, and Charlotte and Joseph Laramie of Albany; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Edwin Dingman Sr. of Floyd, and John and Kasey Dingman of New Hartford; twelve cherished grandchildren, Ella, Sandra, Edwin Jr., Darlene, Steven, Robert, Christopher, Michael, Mark, Tricia, Mara, and Carrie; ten great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
