Eloise E. Meyers, 83, formerly of Rome and Clinton, and a current resident of the Katherine Luther Home, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at St. Elizabeth's Medical Center. She was born on November 26, 1923 in Oriskany, a daughter of the late George and Sara Davis Peek. Eloise graduated from Oriskany High School in 1941 and furthered her education at the Utica School of Commerce. On April 23, 1973 in Port Leyden, Eloise was united in marriage to Robert Meyers. Mr. Meyers passed away in 1990. Eloise was employed with Rome Cable and then General Electric where she was a dedicated employee for many years. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Rome. Prior to her illness, Eloise was a constant bowler and was former member of the Rome Women's Bowling League. She was always active with the various senior citizen groups and loved taking the bus trips with them. Eloise loved to travel, crocheting, and especially treasured her time spent shopping. She is survived by a sister, Marjorie Burk of Oriskany; a brother, Glenn Peek of Rome; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Eloise was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Ashley and her twin, Louise Herman; and two brothers, George and Willard Peek.
