Dolores J. (Vescio) Aiello, 84, of Rome, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 with her loving family by her side.
She was born on April 30, 1933 in Rome, a daughter of the late Carl and Asunta “Rose” Doria Vescio and was raised and educated locally. On August 26, 1950 in St. John the Baptist Church, Dolores was united in marriage to Rocco Aiello; a blessed union of over 62 years until his passing which occurred on January 31, 2013. Dee worked at the Jervis Public Library for several years and The Plaza Restaurant for almost 35 years. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting and word searches. Dolores loved to banter with and tease all of her family and friends. Sometimes she didn’t have a filter for the things she said.
Dolores is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Roxanne and Ronald Rardin of TX; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ricardo and Theresa Aiello of Rome and Ramon and Sara Aiello of Utica; four cherished grandchildren, Erik McCarthy, Travis Rardin, Nicole Aiello, and Joseph Aiello; three sisters, Katy Cacciatori, Nicolina Limner, both of Rome, and Patricia and David Hemmes of Floyd; three sisters-in-law, Rita Vescio, Yolanda LaPorta, and Rose Henry; a brother-in-law, Anthony Grago; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Johanna Carriero, Grace Grago, and Bertha Sellnow and a brother, Peter Vescio.
Mrs. Aiello’s memorial service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at 11:00A.M. at St. John the Baptist Church where her Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Rev. Abe Esper. Interment will be private in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00A.M at Church prior to the Mass.
