Audrey P. (Bartlett) Salter, 54, went to Heaven to be with her good Lord above on Thursday, February 15, 2007 at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her loving family was by her side at the time of her passing. She was born on May 17, 1952 in Rome, a daughter of the late Louis and Dorothy Burch Bartlett. Audrey was raised and educated locally and was at one time employed with Stonehedge Health and Rehabilitation Center and the Quality Inn. On October 4, 1975 she was united in marriage to Ralph "Jim" Salter in St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Audrey was always the life of the party and never met a stranger. She touched every person she has ever met and was always willing to help anyone in need. She was of the Catholic faith. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Jim; two loving daughters, Tammy and Luanne Townsend both of Rome; eight cherished grandchildren, Tara Vaughn, Timothy Blanchard, Brittney Vaughn, Megan Ferguson, Kenneth Dozois III, Cindy Dozois, William Nonluecha Jr., and Shirrice Nonluecha; four great grandchildren, Donte, Christian, Gizelle, and Payton; two sisters, Ruth and Clarence Chester of Rome and Joyce and Donald Fulton of Texas; two brothers, Kenneth and Joan Bartlett of Florida and Elmer Bartlett of Rome; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends. Audrey was preceded in death by her daughter, Wendy Townsend and a sister, Julia Folsom.
